'I show how to weigh things on a kitchen scale, while helping children learn about the two most important units in the metric system for measuring weight: GRAMS and KILOGRAMS. We weigh an onion, tomatoes, dominoes, Mathy my mascot... and his cousin Giganto the mammoth also. I encourage you to do the same at home - it helps you learn about measuring! Then find also food items that have their weight (in grams) labeled, and check if they really weigh that. :) Don\'t forget that the packaging (such as a glass bottle or a can) also weighs something. Check also my workbook on measuring... at http://www.mathmammoth.com/measuring_1.php'
