Comparing the new Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet, fresh for 2020, with the Fire HD 10, to see which budget device is best for you. If you're after a cheap Android tab for watching movies, playing basic games and browsing the web, the Fire HD 8 plus the HD 10 are both great value for money. However, the smaller model is considerably cheaper at £90 vs the £150 10-inch tablet. That extra cash buys you a bigger screen with a sharper FHD resolution, which also serves up warmer, nicer looking colours. Performance is improved for the HD 10 as well, with a faster Mediatek chipset for gaming on the go. However, Amazon's Fire HD 8 2020 also comes in a Plus version with more RAM if you need it. Kids will prefer the smaller and lighter 8-inch tablet, which is a lot easier to handle. As for the rest of the specs they're almost identical, while both tabs also deliver 10 hours of non-stop video streaming each time you charge the battery. So are you more tempted by the smaller or bigger Amazon budget tablet?
