This mistake involves bending the wrist when doing the curl.  When you bend the wrist, you are using your forearm flexor muscles.  These muscles travel just above your elbow and have a tendon attachment to a structure called the medial epicondyle.  That is why tendonitis on the inner part of your elbow is often referred to as medial epicondylitis.  Another name for this is Golfer\'s Elbow, despite this condition not being caused by golf.  When you flex your wrists when doing dumbbell curls, you can be over-straining your muscles over time.  The simple way to correct this mistake and prevent elbow tendonitis is to keep your wrists straight when doing curls.  Through straightening your wrists, you are now solely working your Biceps and Brachialis muscles.  By doing this, your elbows will thank you later.
